The real agenda behind global warming

This is not conspiracy theory. A conspiracy is done in secret. This agenda has been ignored in plain sight for fifteen years.

Why is the left so hysterical about global warming? It's because the "solution" is a perfect vehicle for what they believed all along - that western society's affluence, created by capitalism, is bad, and must be ended.

Every five years or so the UN has been holding their "Earth Summits." It's at these gatherings that they talk amongst themselves about how to reign in capitalism and save the planet. (Truly, they care not at all about saving the planet, they just want power.)

The 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janiero was chaired by a UN official named Maurice Strong. This was kind of the kickoff for the whole UN-led global warming issue. Until very recently, Strong was Executive Officer for Reform in the U.N. Secretary General’s office.

Here's what he said at the 1992 Summit, on the record:

“Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized nations collapse?
Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?”
There you have it.
The REAL agenda behind global warming alarmism.

Big deal, Rob. So some obscure UN official said somthing stupid. It doesn't mean squat. He doesn't speak for everyone who is concerned about global warming.

I never said this quote speaks for everyone. But it is a significant part of the motivation behind the hysterical propaganda surrounding global warming.

Just read Al Gore's first book. He equates capitalism with Nazi Germany. I'm not joking.

It's more important than "some obsure UN official". There is a new religion being espoused. It's anti-human utopianism that leads to comments, like those of Hillary Clinton "I would take those profits...". Ever since Oregonians gave over control to the state with the passage of SB 100, there has been a large and powerful body of belief that only central control can be trusted to make planning and economic decisions for the people of Oregon. That there are absurd
consequences

to this type of thinking needs to be pointed out again and again.

My favorite example of this phenomena of absurdity in the face of reason was "Penn & Teller" on environmentalists. Watching Enviros talking on cellphones while decrying "globalism". Asking the Unthinking to sign a petition banning water. The load of BS the left has to carry must be exhausting. But every step leads to greater central control. Only by controlling the greedy impulses of the individual will true enlightenment be achieved.

For me, the most depressing common feature of all this leftist prattle is its reliance on writers like Malthus, Engals, Freud and Jung.

Nemaste.

Maurice Strong is hardly "So some obscure UN official said somthing stupid." He is the puppet master behind Kyoto, and I would contend that he is also a very dangerous person -- unfortunately too many people refuse to see this: http://www.sovereignty.net/p/sd/strong.html

"in plain sight" is an excellent observation rob. the left is talking about firing and jailing people who question global warming orthodoxy. if they are not stopped, this will be a reality in 10 years. their arguments are so factually weak, they must oppress those who merely hold a different opinion.

Environmeddlists use the term "sustainable development" purely as a means to fool people into believing that they're all for environmentally benign economic development when in fact they are generally opposed to development of any kind. Nowhere is their tyranny more acutely felt than in third-world countries, where the econuts would have you believe that impoverished residents actually prefer a "poor but happy" lifestyle. Not so. Environmeddlists have made concerted and successful efforts to block development in Africa, Latin America, and elsewhere.

A few more very revealing quotations:
