Newsweek - a once proud magazine

Imagine a liberal woman, a national figure, once a candidate for Vice President of the United States, being pictured by Newsweek Magazine as they pictured Sarah Palin on their cover this week. It simply would never happen.

They want to diminish Sarah Palin, so they use a photograph taken from Runners World Magazine and put it on their cover.

They really only diminish themselves. Newsweek used to be a very good rag. Decent columnists, good business coverage, intelligent writing. Now it is just another failing liberal media outlet.

It deserves to fail.

Looks like Sarah decided to come-out on the book tour with the big guns blazing- I love it.

Dear Leader must be freaking out...

Thanks - now I have a mental picture of Geraldine Ferraro in short shorts that I can't get rid of.

When I was a young man in the Army Newsweek was the first policy or "news" magazine subscription I ever purchased.

Up to that point it had been Field and Stream, or Outdoor Life, or Motocross Magazine.

I like Newsweek at the time. I was traveling a lot and needed the news briefs they provided.

However NW has really sucked for a long long time now.

Since I don't really read newspapers or magazines anymore, I can't comment on the quality of Newsweek. However, I don't know why Palin is upset that they chose to use this photo.

1) She posed for it and gave someone permission to use it
2) Palin herself uses her sex appeal as a tool (remember the wink?)
3) The picture illustrates perfectly how shallow her appeal is

If you could find a picture of a liberal woman posing like this, I say publish it. Most women (not just liberals) in politics are simply too smart to put themselves in this position.

Palin's not upset, Mick; RUNNERS' WORLD is. It's their photo, and NEWSWEEK used it without permission.

The rest of your asserttions don't match what I'm seeing, but I agree we can disagree.

Sarah doesn't need any help diminishing herself.
