Jack Bogdanski at his best

Check out this highly entertaining and scathingly funny satire of how the new "Major League" soccer PGE Park remodel is going to unfold, over at Bojack.org.

This is Jack at his best. He is very talented. He and I have tangled over a few things, not the least of which is his inexplicable obsession with the Sarah Palin conspiracy theory. But this is worth the read.

One of the best things I have read in months! I would post a congratulations on his site but I am banned!

Jack banned YOU from his blog? Why?

I see Jack now has a post on Sarah Palin. It talks mostly of the tax (non)issue, but then says he STILL doesn't buy that the baby is for real. Of course he allows no comments, because he doesn't want to hear yet again from all his friends that he is acting the loon.

Here's a perfect and pertinent example of the difference between libs and normal people: Rob links to Bigdumski's post after being banned.

Remind me again about the whole tolerance thing.

rickyragg,

Plenty of local right-wing bloggers ban people and delete comments they don't like. Two examples that come quickly to mind are Ted Piccolo and David Gulliver.

I have trouble understanding the Jack Bog crew sometimes. His site is overwhelmingly supported by folks leaning to the left. Portland elected officials are poster children for the left. Our nation just got through electing a President who is from the same mold. They have the government they always wanted in Portland and now in the Nation, so what's their beef?

There's quite a difference between being banned for having a difference of opinion with the blogger, and being banned for using foul language or otherwise breaking the TOU. At Jack's blog, it's the former. At Ted's it's the latter.

I wouldn't read anything the dickhead writes. RK, you're going soft which is not a good trait.

Anonymous 6:24, I agree.

Coyote and Gully regularly ban and delete comments simply because they disagree with them.

It's similar to Lars Larson--if you present a coherent argument that goes against his point of view he will repeatedly talk over you, then drop your call when you try to interrupt his interruption.

Typical of libs, the anonymice bring to bear their best shot: Waah, waah, your guys do it too.

Leaving aside that they are unwilling or unable to ascertain the difference between the "banning" policies of the blogs in question, their condemnation of the conservative bloggers takes in Bigdumski as well.

Of course the intellectual honesty required to see this is somewhat above their grade level.

ricky,

First of all, I'm not sure that it's accurate to describe bojack as liberal--he's all over the map politically.

Second, I've seen right-wing bloggers who regularly ban people complain about being banned.

Third, I don't know about the banning policies on bojack, but from what I've seen on NW Republican and Resistance is Futile, it's "if you present a cogent argument too forcefully for the other side, you're out of here."

Of course, being banned by someone who appears to think that bragging about his penis size is a valid political argument isn't exactly a dishonor.

Care to put your name and reputation on the line? Of course not.

What a bunch of bull. Of course it is easy to make erroneous accusations while hiding behind your skirt of anonymity.

Of course you need to remain anonymous because even a cursory review of my blog would prove you a liar.

My blog is full of folks who "disagree".

What it is not full of, anymore, is anonymous cowards who peddal in false accusations.

peddle?

coyote,

Your blog is full of deleted comments.

Perhaps if you weren't such a two-bit bully people would attach their names to comments.

Personally, I don't want a hot-head with a gun to know who I am.

Similarly, I don't want someone who brags about being "armed with a 12 gauge, a six-pack, a J.D., and the TRUTH" to know who I am.

Just what I need, a armed, drunken, lawyer who thinks he has all the answers, and that "resistance is futile". No thank you.

anon 7:41,
Ah and thanks for making my point.

You act like an immature child you get treated like an immature child.

You said that I delete comments "simply because" they disagree with me.

I just proved you wrong, there are hundreds there like that, and you failed to comprehend that.

So if there are hundreds of comments over the years on my blog that disagree with me, then just what do the deleted comments contain?

Anonymous personal attacks that are usually off topic.

And yet here you are making another anonymous assertion that I have ever given any indication of personal attack. Never happened.

However there have been several leveled at me and others by folks who do not have the courage of their own convictions.

Why is it that liberals are the ones who do that and then are the folks who blame others for doing what they do?

Here is a hint.

Grow up.

yip yip

Of course, coyote, we can't go back and check on them, can we, because they've been deleted.

I just know about my comments that have been deleted, and they've not been personal attacks.

Unless, of course, you take dismantling your arguments using facts and reasoning as a personal attack. Which you seem to.

I very rarely engage in name calling. You do it as a matter of course, and few of your posts or comments are free of it.

Take your own hint.

I'm not even sure why some of you are getting into a tizzy. The owner of a blog can delete comments simply because it is Tuesday if they wish. Who honestly cares? If they are not open to debate and disagreement, that is their right. I honestly don't see what the issue is.

The solution? Start your own blog, take your opponent to task on it, and link back to their original post.

Take a deep breath, get a grip.

Obviously the people here care - even if you don't. Since we were doing OK without you, and you don't care, why comment?

Oh, that's right, you've got "a grip" and you're above the fray.

Astute, if ironic.

I guess I just have a curious mind: why does it matter? I just don't understand why it's an issue and I'd appreciate some illumination.
